Pro Musica of Detroit presents The Boston Trio

 

Detroit Concert Premiere for Virtuoso Ensemble is November 14 at The Max M. Fisher Music Center

 

Pro Musica of Detroit presents the Boston Trio in a concert program of chamber music on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Max M. Fisher Music Center. The performance by violinist Irina Muresanu, cellist Astrid Schween, and pianist Heng-Jin Park represents the Detroit premiere of the virtuoso artists. Members of the Boston Trio also will conduct a Master Class for students at Western International High School of Detroit during their visit to Michigan.

 

The Boston Trio performance is the second concert in the 88th Pro Musica of Detroit concert season. The extraordinary program includes chamber works by John Musto, Gabriel Fauré and Anton Arensky.

 

The program begins at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 in the Music Box at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit.

 

Acclaimed for their superb sense of ensemble and wondrous balance, these virtuosic and profound musicians are committed to creating exceptional and daring performances of standard and contemporary repertoire around the country and abroad. The Boston Trio is the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Killington Music Festival in Killington, Vermont and at the New England Conservatory's Preparatory School. Their Pro Musica performance represents the ensemble's Detroit concert premiere. 

 

Individual tickets are $45 for cabaret seating and $25 for theatre seating. Tickets are $10 for students and are theatre seating. Tickets are available by calling the Max M. All tickets include an Afterglow reception with the artists in the Orchestra Hall Atrium at The Max M. Fisher Music Center.

 

Members of Boston Trio will assist Pro Musica and its Education-Outreach work during their visit to Detroit. The artists will help build awareness of the benefits of classical music when they conduct a Master Class program at Western International High School in Detroit on Friday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

 

The members of Boston Trio are noted educators, serving on the faculties of the New England Conservatory, the Boston Conservatory, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
