The Detroit Artists Market (DAM) presents Art for the Holidays, every year at this time DAM transforms into an exciting art-filled gift market where you can find just the right presents for all the special people in your life. Working with the area's most talented artists, DAM stocks Art for the Holidays with original gift items that match the taste and budget of collectors as well as first-time shoppers. The wide range of original art at Art For The Holidays includes paintings, jewelry, metal, photography, books, cards, glass, ceramics, fibers and much more.  So join us this holiday season, find that perfect gift, and support Detroit's thriving arts community! Art For The Holidays runs Nov. 7— Dec. 30, 2014.

FIRST GRABS FRIDAY

Be the first to experience Art For The Holidays  with "First Grabs Friday", a special Preview Party on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 5 – 9 p.m. DAM members' tickets are only $10, and non-members pay just $20 at the door for the exclusive opportunity to shop FIRST at this year's Art For The Holidays. This market-style show opens free to the public beginning the next day – Opening Day is Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 11am – 6 p.m.

Art For The Holidays – Dates, Times, and Details

Art For The Holidays runs November 7th through December 30th with regular gallery hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 6pm.  In December, DAM adds Sunday hours, 12noon to 5pm.  DAM Members (Individual Member level and up) receive 10% off all purchases during Art For The Holidays.  Gift Certificates and Gift Memberships are also available to share this special experience with friends and family.  Every purchase at DAM means more dollars going directly to local artists and staying in our community.  Make a difference and have fun buying great art and gifts!

·        Noel Night in Midtown Detroit - Saturday December 6th, 2014, 5pm-10pm

Over 70 Midtown venues, including DAM, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Michigan Science Center, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, the Detroit Historical Museum, and the Detroit Public Library, amongst many others, open their doors to the public FREE of CHARGE during this Cultural Center-wide holiday "open house." Activities includes holiday shopping, horse-drawn carriage rides, family craft activities and performances by over 200 area music, theatre, and dance groups. The evening's festivities culminated with a community sing-along on Woodward Avenue led by the Salvation Army Band—a long-standing Noel Night tradition.

Detroit Artists Market (DAM) was established in 1932 and is the oldest, continuously operating nonprofit contemporary art gallery in the Detroit area. The DAM fosters a vibrant and distinctive artistic community in Detroit and Michigan by promoting, exhibiting, and selling the work of emerging and established artists, through educational programming and art exhibitions, and by serving as a resource to all who seek to expand their knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of art..
