SHOW PREVIEW: Excision wsg Dirtyphonics and ill.Gates at the Fillmore Detroit on April 5

Canada’s bad boy of bass, Excision, is bringing his brand new tour to the Fillmore Detroit on Saturday April 5, 2014 with special guests Dirtyphonics and ill.Gates. Excision is a dubstep pioneer in his own right and for the past few years he’s had 2 massive Detroit shows per year. His performance-heavy side project, Destroid, played last year’s Orion Festival on Belle Isle as well as playing a proper Excision show at the Fillmore. His 55 date 2014 tour features the return of “The Executioner”, his 28 foot wide, 15 foot tall video and light installation. “The Executioner” is re-energized this time with brand new 3D animation over the gigantic 420 square foot surface area of the display. Excisions stage show has become known for having an outrageous 150,000 watts of PK Sound as well as fog, moving components and lasers. If you are looking for a show with unforgettable, in your face, jaw-dropping visuals, make sure that you get yourself to this show!

Up and coming French dubstep and drum and bass group, Dirtyphonics, perform a high energy, 4 man dj set. Dirtyphonics are comprised of members Pho, Charly, Thomas, and Pitchin, who all DJ and work the stage in unison. They play their live shows using a CDJ or beatpad, which allows them to re-edit their songs live while playing them. Dirtyphonics are currently on the road in support of their 2013 album Irreverence, which was released by Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records.

Also opening the show is Canadian glitch-hop god, ill.Gates. ill Gates has been djing for over 16 years, since his early teenage years. He's released collaborations with heavyweights like Datsik, Bassnectar, Ana Sia, and Mimosa among others. He is known for his unforgettable live sets at many of the major festivals.
