White Shag began in 2009 when Jorge Cortez met Laura Mendoza at a cult video store he was working at in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Laura had been playing solo and making most of her debut as a musician on the streets busking for money while bartending on the side. At the time, Jorge was still jamming with the dudes from his old band and decided to add Laura to the mix. A few line-up changes and a Joe Leone later, White Shag has taken Detroit by storm and now sets their sites on the rest of the world.
