Show Preview: Linkin Park @ The Palace of Auburn Hills Aug 21


The hybrid rap-rock band Linkin Park are coming to The Palace Of Auburn Hills next Tuesday August 21st in support of their latest album "Living Things", their fifth release to reach #1 on the Billboard Top 200 and which actually debuted at #1 the week it was released. Combining their experience and sounds from their prior four studio releases, this new album finds the band setting stride in their own way with a sound that is truly unique to them. The band will be co-headlining the Honda Civic Tour with Incubus along with opening act Mutemath. Linkin Park has made an indelible mark on today’s musical landscape with over 50 million albums sold, platinum album sales in 34 countries and 5 continents,  2 Grammy Awards, 5 American Music Awards, 4 MTV Video Awards, 6 MTV Europe Music Award and four #1 albums on Billboard Top 200. The 2012 Honda Civic Tour featuring multi-platinum alternative rock bands Linkin Park and Incubus along with special guest Mutemath will perform at The Palace on Tuesday, August 21 at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets at $85.50 general admission floor and $85.50, $60, $45.50 and $30 reserved are on sale now at Palacenet.com, Livenation.com, The Palace Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations, including The Palace Locker Room Store at Great Lakes Crossing.

Ticket sales for members of Linkin Park’s fan club will begin April 23 at www.linkinpark.com. Incubus fan club pre-sales will begin April 25 at www.incubushq.com. Through their official website, www.linkinpark.com, Linkin Park has announced a June 26 release date for their new album, Living Things (Machine Shop Recordings/Warner Bros.) The album is co-produced by Rick Rubin (Adele, Metallica) and Linkin Park vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, Mike Shinoda, who co-produced Linkin Park’s last two albums. Rolling Stone magazine says, “The material is the band’s most powerful since its megahit 2000 debut.”

The first single from the new album, “Burn It Down,” recently premiered on radio, and is now available through iTunes. Fans can pre-order Living Things from the band’s website, www.linkinpark.com and will receive an immediate download of the single. All orders come with a monthly subscription to receive eight new Living Things remixes.

Tickets begin going on sale to the general public the weekend of April 27, but anyone who pre-orders the album at www.linkinpark.com will gain access beginning on April 24 to buy tickets for the tour. Fans will also be able to buy LP Underground fan club memberships at a discounted rate, and earn the right to buy tickets first, get early access to the venues, and be eligible for meet and greets with the band.

Since 2001, Honda Civic Tour has provided music fans with an amazing concert experience at a great value, offering various ticket prices, so there’s something for everyone. “Linkin Park and Incubus fans have grown up together,” said Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. “We’re looking forward to bringing them all together for a great night of music.” Brandon Boyd from Incubus adds, “We’re going to have a blast on this tour, and I know the fans will too.”

Continuing a Civic Tour tradition, fans will have an opportunity to check out Linkin Park’s customized and autographed Honda Civic Si Coupe and Honda CBR250R motorcycle, which will be displayed at every tour stop.
